When brooding security guard Zafir Ansari rescues Dani from a workplace fire drill gone wrong, it’s an obvious sign: PhD student Dani and ex-rugby player Zaf are destined to sleep together.
But before she can explain that fact, a video of the heroic rescue goes viral. Now half the internet is shipping #DrRugbae—and Zaf is begging Dani to play along.
Turns out, his sports charity for kids could really use the publicity. Lying to help children? Who on earth would refuse?
Dani’s plan is simple: fake a relationship in public, seduce Zaf behind the scenes.
The trouble is, grumpy Zaf’s secretly a hopeless romantic—and he’s determined to corrupt Dani’s stone-cold realism.
Before long, he’s tackling her fears into the dirt. But the former sports star has issues of his own, and the walls around his heart are as thick as his... um, thighs.
Suddenly, the easy lay Dani dreamed of is more complex than her thesis. Has her wish backfired? Is her focus being tested? Or is the universe just waiting for her to take a hint?
My Review of Take a Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert
Danika Brown, a career minded P. HD scholar, asks the universe to send a no-strings-attached fuck buddy her way, because commitment irks her, and she's not the one to waste her time on frivolities like love.
According to her, love is not worth it, and she'd rather have fun and one night stands than commit.
Anyway, the universe answers her prayers and sends a tentative fuck buddy her way.
Zaf, the security officer at Echo where her lecture holds, has been her friend for months, since she joined the organization.
And she has never failed to bring coffee to him everyday.
However, a day that would turn their lives comes, and just like magic, their lives turn around for good.
It's the day she gets stuck in an elevator, the day Zaf runs to her, saves her, and carries her in his arms like a superhero.
The students who feel there is more to their story than just a friendly saving from a concerned security officer, take pictures of them and ship them on social media.
And that is the beginning of their life changing experience.
The book is a Romcom with some explicit scenes and body positivity lines. It's a 4/5 for me.
